Since graduating, Addy has gained international recognition, including a spot on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in 2021. His first monograph, Feeling Seen: The Photographs of Campbell Addy (2022), was acclaimed for its evocative approach to identity representation, a recurring theme in his work.

In 2023, his exhibition I ❤ Campbell featured a new series of images, original paintings, and a short film shot in Ghana. This exhibition offered a profound reflection on his roots and artistic evolution, leading him to receive the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator from the British Fashion Council.

Additionally, Campbell Addy’s photographs have been published in renowned magazines such as Vogue, Time, and Dazed, but his impact extends beyond these achievements.

NIIJOURNAL Issue #4: PRIDE? is an authentic exploration of identity and diversity. This edition celebrates the intersection of masculinity, femininity, Black identity, and queerness, highlighting a diverse range of artists and poets and challenging traditional narratives through visual and literary collaborations that invite deep reflection on pride and authenticity.

“There weren’t many Black fashion photographers in the mainstream. I didn’t have anyone to admire, so I created something for myself,” says Addy.
